(Sports Network) - The 14th-ranked Connecticut Huskies welcome the UCF Knights to the XL Center today for a non-conference battle.

UCF opened the season with wins in six of its first seven games, but losses in two of the last three have tempered the excitement a bit. On Wednesday, the Knights fell to South Florida on the road by a 69-65 final. They are now 0-2 in true road games and are clearly underdogs today.

As for UConn, it had a two-game win streak halted with a 64-61 loss to Kentucky on December 9th. The Huskies have been idle since, and it will be interesting to see if they appear to be well-rested or somewhat rusty today. They are 6-2 overall, and the only other loss came against Duke, another national power.

Connecticut has won both previous meetings with UCF, including an 85-82 squeaker over the Knights two years ago.

Isaac Sosa is the leading scorer for UCF this season, as his blistering 50.9 percent shooting from three-point range has led to 12.5 ppg. The only other double-digit scorer on the roster is A.J. Tyler, who is contributing 11.1 ppg. The Knights are generating 69.7 ppg while allowing 65.6 ppg to opponents on just 41 percent shooting. In the narrow loss to USF last time out, Sosa scored 14 points, while Marcus Jordan pitched in 11 points off the bench. The Knights turned the ball over 17 times and suffered a 38-27 rebounding disadvantage, overshadowing the fact that they nailed 8-of-16 three-pointers and limited the Bulls to 38 percent shooting from the field.

Four double-digit scorers are in the fold for Jim Calhoun's UConn team, and guard Jerome Dyson leads the way with 19.8 ppg despite the fact that he is shooting only 38.6 percent from the floor, including 27.6 percent from three- point range. More than just a scorer, Dyson provides 5.5 rpg and 5.0 apg, proof of his versatility. Kemba Walker checks in with 15.0 ppg, 5.8 apg and 19 steals, while Stanley Robinson contributes 14.8 ppg and 7.4 rpg. Rounding out the group is Gavin Edwards with 12.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 26 blocks. The Huskies are netting 75.0 ppg while limiting opponents to 65.0 ppg on 36.7 percent shooting. Dyson scored 17 points against Kentucky, but his team turned the ball over 20 times. Without question, the giveaways were the most obvious reason for the setback.
