WASHINGTON - District of Columbia police say a woman who was arrested in the death of an 8-year-old girl in southeast Washington admitted she stabbed her daughter.
Police say they found the girl in a burning house Friday morning after 29-year-old Carlese Hall flagged down police and directed them to the fire. Police say it appears the girl's injuries were not fire-related. She later died at a hospital.
At an arraignment Tuesday, Hall was charged with first degree murder and held in jail without bond. Police say she was previously hospitalized with injuries related to the incident.
Authorities report Hall tested positive for PCP and opiates at the time of her arrest.
