Washington -
The U.S. State Department building has reopened after being closed for a few hours while firefighters investigated a flash fire that occurred during an asbestos abatement project.
D.C. fire department spokesman Alan Etter says the fire was reported early Thursday on the fifth floor of the building at 2200 C Street in northwest Washington.
There were no injuries.
Etter says employees were allowed back into the building about 7:15 a.m. He says there's no apparent damage to the building.
