Authorities in Queen Anne's County have charged a Kent Island High School student with racial harassment for allegedly threatening another student with a noose.

Eighteen-year-old Bruce Settle of Stevensville is also charged with second-degree assault and disturbing school operations. The county sheriff's office says the alleged incident occurred Nov. 6, after an earlier fight between Settle, who is white, and a 17-year-old black student.

NewsChannel 8 myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?According to charging documents, Settle allegedly hung the noose on a classroom door and asked the 17-year-old "Did you wanna try this on?" The 17-year-old removed the noose and kept it, then told his mother.
