WASHINGTON - The White House party crashers have decided not to talk to Larry King Monday night as planned, but they could soon be forced to tell their story anyway.

The now infamous White House party crashers, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, have people talking.

"I think it was a disgrace! I really do!" said one woman.

"I think they should go to jail. I think they did a really bad thing," said another woman.

But D.C. Resident Kevin Deegan said, "Kudos. If that's something you want to do, if that's on your checklist of like, 'hey, before I die I want to crash a party at the White House' and you get to do it, hey! All sorts of claps to you."

A congressional committee hopes to question Tareq and Michaele Salahi and the Secret Service director Thursday about that red carpet security breach at the White House state dinner last week.

"This could have been a national tragedy if these were terrorists, or pathelogical murderers, they could have done a lot of damage, " said New york Rep. Peter King.

The Salahis certainly looked the part. Michaele spent seven hours prepping at the Toney Erwin Gomez Salon in Georgetown and claimed she had a White House invite.

"I asked 'do you have it with you?" And she said 'yes.' She tried looking for it and didn't find the invitation. So I never saw it, she didn't have it. She thought it was in the car or something," said hairstylist Peggy Ioakim.

Salahi left without leaving a tip though. The rest is history and an attempt by the couple to get picked for a new reality TV series "Real Housewives of DC", not everyone's impressed.

Luann De Lesseps, from the cast of "Real Housewives of New York" said, "People that would lie to get into the White House and crash parties are not necessarily people I want to rub elbows with."

The couple has apparently rubbed elbows, at least for the camera, with plenty of celebrities. It's unclear whether they'll show up for Thursday's hearing.

It's also unclear whether they'll face any criminal charges.
