CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - It's a sad Thanksgiving for relatives of a missing Virginia tech student, but Morgan Harrington's family is convinced someone knows where she is.
Her family visited the "memorial" to their daughter in Charlottesville even though they don't know whether she is alive or dead. They added ornaments and mementos. They also tied a yellow ribbon, the symbol for "welcome home."
Gil Harrington, Morgan's mother, said Thursday, "This is a family holiday. Let Morgan go and put our family back together again."
The Harringtons and their son came to the make-shift reminder of Morgan Harrington's disappearance to plead with anyone who knows anything about her situation to come forward.
"We hope the person who took Morgan sees this and at least lets us know where Morgan is," said Dan Harrington, Morgan's father.
The Harringtons have come to a bridge in Charlottesville because it is the last place Morgan was seen before her disappearance. They say to be in this place to breath the air Morgan breathed allows them to be close to her in some way.
"I know dogs smelling on this bridge can smell her so there is something of her here. There is nothing of her in our home," shared Gil Harrington.
The 20-year-old Virginia Tech student came to Charlottesville from Virginia Tech with friends for a concert October 17. She got locked out and told her friends she would get home on her own.
Recently, a few details have surfaced but nothing significant. The uncertainty gets worse with each passing day.
"The statistics are, you know, are not in our favor but we still hold out hope that Morgan in alive and that she will come back," said Dan Harrington.
Though they know the chances of a reunion with Morgan are growing less likely they refuse to give up hope. They want this to be their last trip to the memorial to the mystery surrounding Morgan Harrington.
If you know anything that could help the investigation, Morgan Harrington's family wants to hear from you.
