MIAMI, Fla. - An alleged murder for hire plot in Florida is captured on tape. Police say a Miami woman wanted her husband dead but ended up locked up instead.

Dalia Dippolito broke down after learning from police her husband Mike has been murdered, but police say it was all an act.

Police say Dippolito paid who she thought was a hitman to kill her husband. The whole transaction was caught on tape.

"I'm a lot tougher than what I look," says Dippolito to the "hitman" on tape. "I know you came here and were like, 'oh, what a cute little girl' or whatever...but I'm not."

The two even agreed on a price.

"How much are you paying me? I was going to get 3,000 from you today and ,3000 when it's all done right?" asks the "hitman."

But the hitman is really an undercover officer and instead of killing Mike Dippolito, he reveals the shocking plot.

"They said come with me immediately. Your wife is trying to have you killed," said Mike Dippolito.

Police call Dalia Dippolito to the scene then take her to the station for an interview.

"Are you sure you don't know anybody that would want to kill your husband? You wouldn't want to kill your husband?" said a detective to Dalia Dippolito.

She replied, "Not at all. We're fine. Like, there's nothing."

Then, detectives bring in the officer posing as a hitman.

"Do you know who this guy is?" asked a detective.

"No," said Dalia.

"You've never seen him before?" asked the detective.

"No," replied Dalia.

But the biggest shock is when Dalia's husband appears.

"Oh my god. Oh my god. Mike come here," said Dalia.

From behind bars, police say Dalia Dippolito continues to deny everything but her husband says the evidence speaks for itself.

"There's a lot of funny business going on with her for a long time. Unexplained money and things and it just doesn't make a lot of sense. It's like a movie," said Mike Dippolito.

According to police, this was the third time Dalia Dipplito tried to kill her husband. They say on one occasion, she poured anti-freeze into his Starbucks tea.
