FORT WASHINGTON, Md. - An apparent robbery led to a shootout that killed a man in a convenience store in Prince George's County. The shootout happened in the 12500 block of Livingston Road in Fort Washington at approximately 9:24 p.m. Tuesday.

Prince George's County police say two men entered the Food Zone Convenience Mart, armed with guns Tuesday night. According to police, the two men were trying to rob the store when an altercation broke out between the suspects and the owner.

"The store owner was able to wrestle a handgun that was produced by one of the suspects away from them and he was able to shoot, fatally shoot one of the suspects," said Ofc. Larry Johnson, Prince Georges County Police.

Estela Antonia works at the store, she says her boss' actions were very brave.

"Hit him on the head, then he took the gun, and he shoot the guy," she said.

But Antonia admits, if she was in that situation, she wouldv'e reacted differently.

"Just give them the money, that's okay," she said.

According to police, the second man fled and police have a vague description of him. The suspect is described as 6'1" or 6'2" in height and wearing all black.

Police are looking to get surveillance video for a more detailed look at the suspect and what happened inside the store.
