ARLINGTON, Va. - Arlington police are trying to track down a man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.
The attack happened August 28, police said. The victim told police she was assaulted in her apartment in the 3500 block of S. Ball Street.
The next day, police issued a warrant for Efran Cruz Nunez, 30, of Woodbridge, charging him with rape. Police say Cruz Nunez was asked to turn himself in but detectives have not been able to locate him.
Police described Cruz Nunez as a Hispanic male, 5'6" and 155 lbs. They add he works in construction and is a legal resident.
Investigators say Cruz Nunez did not know the victim. He was working at a construction site near the girl's home and may have seen her that way, police said.
Anyone who sees Cruz Nunez is asked to immediately call 911. Anyone with additional information is urged to call the Arlington County Police Department Tip Line at 703 228-4242, or Detective Robert Icolari at (703) 228-4240. Det. Icolari can also be reached by email at ricolari@arlingtonva.us.
