Washington - Metro Police have confirmed that they responded to a call about a bank robbery at 9:28 a.m. at the PNC bank at 14th and K Streets NW. A man handed a bank employee a note saying that he had a bomb and got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect hailed a cab after the robbery, and after dropping the suspect off at 14th and Euclid Streets NW, the cab driver returned to the bank: the money the suspect had used to pay him bore evidence of having been stolen from a bank.
The suspect is described as a black male between 5'7" and 5'8" with a patchy beard, wearing an orange sweater, black baseball cap, black sunglasses and black jeans.
Police are interviewing the cab driver, and the robbery is still under investigation.
