Brian Rafalski also scored for the Red Wings, who finished 3-1-1 on its five- game road trip. Chris Osgood was credited with the victory after stopping 25- of-27 shots.
Detroit was 3-for-5 with the man advantage.

"We're fortunate obviously to have some high end players," Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock said. "As a team, we haven't been as good as we like to be, and yet we go home with a 6-1-1 road record and we've had a lot of travel and been on the road ten days...It'll be good to get home and get skating."
Henrik Sedin and Kyle Wellwood tallied for the Canucks, which was 0-for-7 on the power play and snapped a short-lived two-game win streak.
Roberto Luongo was beaten three times on 23 shots to take the loss.
"This team is not about looking at the big picture," Luongo said. We're a one game at a time team and right now we've got to regroup and get ready for the next one."
Trailing 3-1 in the third, Sami Salo's shot from the point caromed off the back boards. Osgood was caught out of position and Wellwood tapped the puck into the empty cage at the 7:20 mark.
Vancouver couldn't capitalize on Red Wings forward Daniel Cleary's holding penalty later in the period. Ryan Kesler was stopped from point-blank range, and Sedin's shot in the waning seconds went wide right to seal the win for the visitors.
Samuelsson's quick release on the power play at the 13:30 mark of the opening period sailed over the left shoulder of Luongo for the game's first goal.
Detroit moved ahead 2-0 on another power-play play, this one from Rafalski 6 1/2 minutes into the second session.
Sedin's third goal of the season midway through the second cut the Canucks' deficit to one.
With a two-man advantage, Zetterberg's backhander on a bad angle from the left side found its way to the back of the net to restore the Wings' two-goal lead with 1:08 left in the second.
"That's the best power play in the league over there and we can't be giving them five-on-threes," Kesler said. "It's a team game and we're working hard out there, but they've got a bunch of good players over there and we just didn't get the job done."
