Gun Recovered from School, Suspect Still Missing

Hyattsville police say they were called to the high school around 4 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious person who possibly had a handgun. The school was put on lockdown and they were able to find the man before he could enter the school.
The man fled, throwing a loaded 9 millmeter handgun as he ran into a wooded area. He was last seen in the area of Belcrest Road and Adelphi Road.
Police are asking anyone who may have any information to contact them at 301-985-5060.
