- (Sports Network) - Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Richard Collier, who was shot in September and had to have his left leg amputated, was released from the hospital on Monday.
He was shot 14 times and is now paralyzed from the waist down. He will continue his rehabilitation from an undisclosed location since his attacker is still at large.
Collier was shot early on September 2 outside an apartment complex in Jacksonville. The 26-year-old and his former Jaguars teammate Kenneth Pettway had been out at clubs and were following two women they had met back to an apartment complex to continue their evening together.

While the men waited in a Cadillac Escalade for the women to return from the apartment, someone walked up and fired several times at Collier, who was driving. Pettway was not injured.
No motive has been found for the attack, but investigators said that he appeared to have been targeted.
Collier is the third NFL player to be shot in less than two years. Washington safety Sean Taylor was fatally shot in his Miami home last November and Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was killed after leaving a nightclub in January, 2007.
