TOWSON, Md. - Baltimore County police say they've charged a 24-year-old Baltimore man with raping a Towson University student last week.
Spokesman Cpl. Michael Hill says tips from "concerned citizens" led investigators to Ian Murphy.
Police say the 21-year-old woman was attacked around 1 a.m. on Oct. 6 as she unloaded groceries in the parking lot of her apartment building in Towson. Police say the assailant implied he had a gun.
Murphy was arrested Sunday and charged with first-degree rape, a first-degree sex offense and kidnapping in the attack. Murphy was denied bail, but a bail review is scheduled for Tuesday.
