(Sports Network) - U.S. Open runner-up Jelena Jankovic edged Wimbledon champion Venus Williams on Saturday to move in to the final of the $650,000 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
The second-seeded Jankovic , who was already assured of becoming the new women's world No. 1 when the rankings are released on Monday, continued her winning ways in a 6-7 (8-10), 7-5, 6-2 decision over Williams.
Russian Nadia Petrova will face Jankovic in Sunday's final, after a 6-4, 6-4 win over Belarusian Victoria Azarenka. Azarenka was coming off a second-round upset of fourth-seeded Elena Dementieva of Russia.

Petrova bounced Venus' top-ranked sister, Serena, on Wednesday.
Jankovic, fresh off her WTA Tour title in Beijing last week, improved to 5-3 lifetime against the American, including a win in a quarterfinal in Rome earlier this season. Jankovic has won five of their last six meetings overall.
The 2008 Stuttgart titlist will take home $100,000.
