Anne Arundel County police say a woman was hit over the head and robbed as she loaded shopping bags into her car at Westfield Annapolis mall.

It happened around 12:50 p.m. Monday in a garage outside Nordstrom. As the 62-year-old woman visiting from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., put the bags in the car, police say a man walked up behind her and hit her head, knocking her to the ground.

Police say the man took a newly purchased laptop computer and case, a new Apple iPod Nano and jewelry from the woman, then fled. The woman was treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center for a gash to the head and released.
