what happens then where I am living now people have a license to beg on street corners. at one particular corner there are three people. two men and a women. one day he holds a sign that says please help me I am homeless. the woman? a joke. she is white has hair bleached. and wears cool jeans. she says have to feed children . all three cigarrettes, do not look homeless and all but one wears jewelery. next day same ones there with different signs. one of the guys will curse you if you do not look. they drink soda and sit and smoke. they are lazy and look for a way out the easy way. the major networks had a section on these people they interviewed some and bragged how much they could make in a day especially a cold bad day.

those people you speak about here work their butts off to feed their families. they do not want trouble just like whites other races nationalities and cultures.

in Texas we lived next door to a family from India. they were turned down five times by the state dept to bring their elderly parents the problem is many do this to get them them here then say they are too ill to leave so they collect medicare or medicaid. in northern va there are many Pakistanis coming in Why? many Arabs also that would scare the h-- out of me. look at the Arab in south Riding va he was picked up for running a money scam the thought was a possible terrorist money connection. have not heard anymore. the homes there go over a million. . they are not Hispanic so !!!!

who will mow your lawns? pick your food? do your dry cleaning? build your homes> . if they are here illegally and breaking the law?? yes deport them. do you have relatives who sneaked over here many years ago for the American dream? do you read history and see what came with those illegals???? or do we not want to think about that. there is a great documentary about gangs and Mafia types that came over in the 1800's they wanted the Aemrican Dream.

We have our hands full as it is. Don't get me wrong, illegal immigration is a very serious problem and I am not a proponent of offering "extended" government services, but saying that you wish you could go "a hunting" for them is going way too far (prettyboy). The anger expressed by many in this forum is misplaced and useless. There?s absolutely no way that we?re going to deport an estimated 20 million people back to where they came from (get use to that). It?s time to start thinking about other solutions. The leadership in Montgomery County (with whom I am not always in agreement with) recognizes this and is trying to find a way to move the county forward WITH this problem. I hate to say it, but poor people are the ones committing most of the crimes. I strongly believe that if we completely shut down every social service available to poor people, the population of poor people will grow and crime statistics will rise. This doesn?t mean that we should offer amnesty to everyone here, but we also can?t turn of the "lights" and hope that they go home. Thought provoking conversations about this issue is what we need more of. I have little tolerance for people that just want to spew hate and ignorance. It?s useless.

This problem goes way back when good old congress made the law that if an ILLEGAL woman gave birth in the USA, the child automatically was a US citizen. Thus mom got a toe hold in the door. They need to change that law NOW. If she is ILLEGAL the child is ILLEGAL. This is not rocket science. Our borders are a total joke and have been ever since the United States were formed. Get after Mexico and all the other countries to create jobs there so their people have no desire to leave. The leaders of these countries have no desire to improve the job core in their countries. Their people come here and ship money back home. NEW LAW , NO MONEY ORDERS, WIRES, ALLOWED OUT OF THE THIS COUNTRY MONTH AFTER MONTH AFTER MONTH. You take the American dollar to Greece and you can't take it out of the country. I know, my father was born there. He returned 75 years later to see the few remaining members if his family after leaving when he was 14 years old and came through Ellis Island and became an American Citizen. He had about $10,000 left when he came home a year later. He could not bring it back. What is our problem?

Well we should not just leave it up to the police, everyone should be involved. From school administrators to private citizens, we should all be calling ICE reporting illegals. Especially those in our public schools. If we do not stop this we will not be able to prevent muslim issue that is on the horizon.

You were absolutely outraged that someone could bring harm to animals and you even proclaimed your unwavering admiration and undying love for said animals. I completely understand the frustration that many of you feel because I live in Montgomery County. However, your anger is misdirected and your hate is unnecessary. The simple law of supply and demand is why people keep migrating here illegally. If there were no need for illegal immigrants to come here, they probably wouldn't (at least not in large numbers). The truth is that many organizations have been exploiting these folks for decades and encouraging them to come here. Your anger should be directed at the many institutions that have allowed this problem to grow unchecked for the past 30 to 40 years. Institutions like state and local governments along with countless private sector organizations and even Joe (or Jane) public that thinks it's ok to hire an illegal to do a little work around the house. This country has a huge problem to contend with, but dehumanizing illegal immigrants is not the solution. Prettyboy says that he would like to hunt them down and shoot them and markbono thinks they're smelly. I am ashamed to be in the same species with these two creeps. Get out and vote at every election. Pay attention to everything that your elected officials make a decision on and if you disagree with them, show it by casting your vote. On a side note, I had Home Depot completely redo my roof about two years ago. Of course they used a contractor, but who do you think the contractor hired. Immigrants didn't create this problem.

i think it is great that some one is finally cracking down on these dirty, smelly illegals. We do need to show some compassion. We should issue each illegal witha compass and a AAA direct route map to the border.

Throw all illegals out of this country. Deny them any services. American citizens and those here legally are losing because of the drain these illegals are putting on the system. Katie - are you not doing the same thing you are accusing someone else of doing, making a general sweeping statement? But let me guess your statement is fine because you are an apologist. Do you live in an area where there is a large ILLEGAL population? Those who do can distinguish with pretty good accuracy who is ILLEGAL and who is LEGAL when walking into a 7-11 or standing on line at the local Giant.

The ILLEGAL population is a drain on society and they take more out of the community then their paying sales tax puts back into it. With them using resources like schools, health care and WIC paying 5X on a 12 pack (which will then need someone to go out and pick up the empties) does not equal up. They are an absolute drain on the community.

As for their "buying power" or "economic strength" it is an absolute joke. The boycott of non-immigrant stores in PWC was by all means a complete joke. The natural born citizens and LEGAL citizens returned to their local Walmarts and other stores. Oh by the way the ILLEGALS and their supporters were still frequenting the local Home Depots, 7-11's and Walmarts the entire week.

We all pay taxes, children (of those that pay taxes) should be the most concern. The "ILLEGALS" should not be put first before the CHIPS issue. What is going on????????/

What part of ILLEGAL does this country not understand, many of us paid years in taxes but then illegals hop our borders and expect free handouts & medical care at our expense...I DON'T THINK SO!!!! I'm not sure why there has to be much debate about this. Of course, they should be treated humanely until they are caught and deported. But I would deny them any tax payer service not needed for physical well being. In other words, if someone needs emergency surgery give it them, then deport them. If they need an asprin for a headache , change the law so they can't get the $9 type which the ER gives out and force them to buy a bottle of tylenol or asprin from the drug store like everyone else. Also, if they are discovered to be illegal cut off all the utilities to their homes, including phone service. Put them on a cozy trip back home, since the US is NOT their home.

I hear you Mango1023. I posted afew days ago about all the trash that is hanging around the Gaithersburg, Maryland 7-11's and how they behave (or misbehave). I say if you're not at a store to buy something than you should be GONE. The police use to patrol around here but for the past year or so they are not there. It's just WRONG for this scum to be here. I need not say more. If tomorrow they would send me out a petition to take up arms and go "a hunting" I would. They will never leave peaceably and all they know is FORCE.

I have lived in Woodbridge for 15 years and I was never afraid to walk in to a 7 Eleven before. I AM NOW. Some of the people that hang out there act like they have never seen a women before. How do we know if the illegals that have invaded this area aren't some kind of killer in another country. If you want to stay in the USA do it the right way I say.

I still don't understand what part of "illegal" people don't understand! And the fact that "illegal" applies to anyone of foreign birth that entered this country without permission or through means that circumvented normal entry processes, that applies to any nationality. So far it appears that the loudest voices are from the hispanic community, and why is that? Because an extremely large number of hispanics have entered this country illegally. And yes, I understand making your life better and that of your family and future generations better. But there is a right way and a wrong way to accomplish it. I don't have a problem with legal immagrants that want to become citizens, I do have a problem with illegals that cost all taxpayers money that could be used for more worthwhile purposes.

So what's the answer, the Federal government is dodging the issue. Amnesty, sure, IF you can close the borders, so there isn't a gold rush to get into the country when it is enacted. And how about tose illegals that really don't want to become citizens and learn English.

In my opinion, it appears that the Hispanic Community can help, by either offering solutions, other than make the illegals legal with an amnesty program, which may "encourage" addition illegals to cross the border, by the way. And how the heck do I know that "Jose Pedro Sanchez" (made up name), is who he says he is, if he moves after submitting paperwork. And suppose he has been using a bogus SSN? What do you say to that? Sorry, it boils down to "What part of illegal don't you folks understand?"

And at which point do citizens in localities either throw in the towel or stand up and accomplish what the Federal government should be doing? I vote for local enforcement, until the Feds stand up and take appropriate ownership. Unfortunately, that is another subject....
