Police say a PNC bank employee and her two children are safe after being abducted during a robbery on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old mother and her two children, ages 5 and 1, were abducted at gunpoint while leaving her house in Lusby, Md. The woman and her children were then forced into their blue Chevy Tahoe shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, St. Mary's County police say.
The suspects, described as two black males thought to be in their 20s, forced the woman to drive about 10 miles to a PNC Bank in the 22000 block of Three Notch Road in California, Md. The suspects allegedly told the woman to enter the bank and remove an undisclosed amount of cash while they held her children.
Inside the bank, the woman asked a co-worker to help her drain the vault of a large amount of money. The woman's co-worker dialed 911, but before officers could respond the suspects fled and dropped the woman and her children off at a nearby school unharmed. The suspects ditched the Chevy Tahoe at a CVS, on Route 235 and Rue Purchase Lane in Lexington, Md. The duo then fled on foot.
"We are interviewing the employees that were there. We are getting lists of employees to contact them," said Saint Mary's County
Sheriff Timothy Cameron.

Police believe a second vehicle, a black 2003 or 2004 Nissan Sentra with tinted windows may also be involved. The vehicle was last seen at a McDonalds in Lexington Park near the targeted bank; however, it is not clear if the Nissan is or was in the possession of the suspects. Officials are also searching for a possible third suspect. Authorities say the bank wasn't open at the time, and it's unclear if the men knew the woman.
Roads heading in and out of St. Mary's County were shut down for a while, but were reopened. Schools in the immediate area were placed on high alert. Police continue to investigate, but believe the suspects knew she worked at that bank and knew her routine.
