(Sports Network) - Asjha Jones scored 16 points and added five rebounds as Connecticut clipped New York, 73-70, in Game 2 of an Eastern Conference semifinal from Mohegan Sun Arena.
Lindsay Whalen chipped in 15 points and four assists for the Sun, who evened the series and forced a deciding Game 3.
Loree Moore had 16 points for the Liberty, who got 11 points each from Shameka Christon and Janel McCarville.

Despite being outscored 21-11 in the fourth quarter, the Sun pulled out the win after Tamika Whitmore sank a pair of free throws in the final 30 seconds to ice the game. Connecticut almost wasted a 13-point lead with a little more than eight minutes left in regulation.
The Sun led by 10 after one quarter, and by 40-32 at the half.
