The attorneys who represented the plaintiff in the lawsuit that overturned the District's handgun ban now want the city to pay their legal fees.
Attorneys Alan Gura, Robert Levy and Clark Neily III filed a motion this week in U.S. District Court asking a judge to order the city to pay more than $3.5 million in fees.
The motion includes a breakdown of the hours and expenses involved in the case.
The attorneys represented Dick Heller in the lawsuit that was brought against the city in 2003. The U.S. Supreme Court overturned the District's handgun ban in June, saying it violated the Second Amendment.
