Neighbors say they've seen this before and they're afraid they'll see it again.
There is a stretch of East Randolph Road where they say they're fighting against speeders and they say they're losing.
"It's getting to the point it's getting ridiculous," said Wilfred Nickerson. "To me this is a dangerous corner because of the cars that are speeding, going too fast."
Nickerson remembers five accidents he's photographed over just the past couple of years. "One night I had surprise, I had a car right next to my fence that came flying down."
Two people were killed Sunday and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident. Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at East Randolph and Lori Drives, while two additional occupants were taken by helicopter to local trauma centers, police said.
One vehicle was a blue Honda Accord driven by a 27-year-old Jose Reyes-Argueta with two passengers, a man and a woman, headed eastbound on East Randolph Road.
The other was a white Toyota Camry traveling westbound on East Randolph. Police are still investigating why the Accord crossed the concrete median and collided with Camry, which was hit on the passenger side.
Reyes-Arguets and 19-year-old Kimberly Diaz were pronounced dead on the scene, while the male passenger was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Camry driver, 30-year-old Jabari Demessa of Silver Spring , was critically injured.
"We had two deaths at this stop, now two more, it's a very bad situation and we need the government to move ahead and do something," said Irwin Ruben.
Back in 2003 the government spent half a million dollars on median strips, but that didn't stop another fatal accident in 2006. So neighbors want more medians and they want the speed limit lowered from 40 to 35 miles per hour.
"It allows this road to then become eligible for speed cameras--we think that would be a major change here," said Ruben.
There are no plans for change yet, but people who live along the road hope Sunday's crash speeds up their efforts to get others to slow down.
At least six people have died along this stretch of road including this most recent crash.
Anyone who witnessed this crash is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435.
