Parents taking children to parks in Arlington are on alert after reports of a mysterious man taking photos of kids at play.
The parks are a paradise for most children but while they have innocent fun their parents are worried about whether their images are being photographed.
"If someone's taking pictures, that's disturbing, very disturbing," said parent Victoria Justice.
Several times over the past few weeks there have been reports of a man with a camera taking photos of children at local parks, such as Arlington Forest. Witnesses say he keeps his distance and when confronted, he walks away.
So far, there are no reports of the man with the camera approaching children but police have responded to calls of a suspicious person.
"We don't believe a crime has been committed here. No one has been approached and no one has been assaulted in any way," said John Lisle with Arlington County Police.
Parents are spreading the word online and in person. For many, it's a matter of being protective of their children and not a time to panic.
"If he hasn't approached anybody, you just have to be more careful, pay attention and watch your kids," said Beth Hicks.
