WASHINGTON - Shocking new details are being revealed about former presidential candidate John Edwards and his affair.

The allegations come from a former aide who has made claims of an alleged sex tape made with Edwards and his former mistress.

Andrew Young, one of Edwards' closest former aides, says Edwards told him he would be taken care of for life if he not only helped cover up an affair, but also claimed responsibility for a child that isn't his.

Now, the accusations against the former presidential candidate are not only adding up, they're getting worse. First he denied, then admitted an affair with Rielle Hunter. Then, he denied her baby was his and a former aide came forward, saying he is the father.

But now Young reportedly says it was all a lie and has signed a book deal to tell all.

According to the New York Times, Young said he was going public because, "... He had become disillusioned with Mr. Edwards's behavior and recklessness, which he said included participating in the production of a sex tape with Ms. Hunter."

"This guy has unquestioned credibility. He was in Edwards inner circle when that inner circle had shrunk dramatically because a number of staffers who had been with him in 2004 abandoned him," said Kenneth Vogel of Politico.

The allegations are not sitting well with voters. "I have no respect for the man at all -- as I say again it's the children who I feel sorry for," said Toni Murdoch, a D.C. resident.

"The governor of South Carolina, look at Bill Clinton," said one woman. "I mean boys for God's sake use your head not other parts of your body."

But what are for now just allegations, may soon be a legal matter in the form of a possible paternity test.

"If it's Edward's [baby] it's just going to be sort of more dirt on the coffin of his political career," added Vogel.

It may be an attorney that Edwards needs most these days, as the FBI (web) is still trying to determine if the one-time presidential hopeful used campaign funds to pay off Young and Hunter.
