Court records indicate that a Frederick man who died after he was Tasered by police had a history of resisting arrest.

Frederick radio station WFMD reports that Jarrell Gray had been arrested at least four times before his run-in with a Frederick County sheriff's deputy last November.

According to charging documents, Gray refused to comply with police commands on at least three of those occasions. He kicked a deputy in the shin during one arrest and spit inside the police car during another.

A deputy Tasered him twice last November after he refused to remove his hands from his pockets. Gray later died from what the state medical examiner's office has ruled a case of sudden death associated with restraint and alcohol intoxication.

Gray's parents have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the county.
