Official: Thai team to go Myanmar cyclone area

An Thai official says Myanmar's military government has given permission to a Thai medical team to go to the cyclone-ravaged delta.Dr. Thawat Sutharacha of the Public Health Ministry said Wednesday he has received a message from the Myanmar Health Ministry that says the Thai team can conduct medical work in the delta. If the team goes as scheduled on Friday, it will be the first foreign aid group to work in the Irrawaddy delta. Myanmar's junta has declared the area off-limits to foreigners.
