A baby girl will be calling the beltway her birthplace after her mother just couldn't make it to the hospital.
On the way to Holy Cross hospital, the baby girl couldn't wait for traffic. She was born shortly after 10 am Monday, near the 495 New Hampshire Avenue exit.

Montgomery County (web|news) Fire and Rescue raced to the scene. Calling himself a relative rookie, firefighter Brad Logsdon said it was definitely his first baby delivery. "It was a little scary at first, I have to admit. I didn't really know what to expect."
After 18 years with Montgomery County, this was Captain Alan Butsch's 10th time to respond to an emergency delivery, but it was his first beltway baby. "The baby was a little cold, of course, but once we got him in the back of the ambulance, and warmed up, the baby did fine. Absolute perfect."
The mother and the baby girl are now recovering at Holy Cross Hospital.
