Motorcyclist Injured in Near-Collision with Truck

State police say a motorcyclist was seriously injured after his vehicle nearly collided with a pickup truck on U.S. 40A.
Thirty-seven-year-old Jon Mielke of Middletown was riding a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle west toward Blentlinger Road, troopers said, at a high rate of speed.
Seventy-seven-year-old Junior Catron of Frederick was trying to make a left turn onto Blentlinger Road in his Dodge pickup when Miekle skidded and was thrown from the cycle.
Officials at Shock Trauma say Mielke is in critical condition.
