The rain and wild weather we saw Sunday is long gone, but the damage across Maryland will take weeks to clean up.
A school lost its roof and a home in Rockville was filled with flood water.
Susan Harris and her daughter, Ashleigh are mopping up a wet mess in their apartment.
"When I came home from school, water was everywhere. At first, I thought my mom was cleaning the carpets, then I saw the bathroom," said Ashleigh Harris.
When upwards of three inches of rain fell in Montgomery County (web|news), water, perhaps draining improperly from a pool, came bubbling up the toilets and bathtubs in two ground-level apartments.
"Four times we've dealt with this," said Susan Harris.
Next door, Catherine Koutalas is also sorting through damaged property.
"I'm worried about the safety of my family. We can't stay here," said Koutalas.
Other than providing heavy-duty fans to dry out the two flooded units, the property management company has not responded to the tenants.
The wild weekend weather is also creating problems in Prince George's County. an f-1 tornado that touched down in Chillum, ripped apart the George E Peters Seventh Day Adventist School. Students there will finish out the year at the Judith Hoyer Early Childhood Center in Cheverly.
In Waldorf, repairs are underway in the wake of a separate sunday afternoon twister that ripped trees from the ground and smashed them into homes.
