COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Several University of Maryland students got a chance to almost bare it all, as Playboy made a stop to recruit co-eds for its upcoming pictorial Girls of the ACC.
Rebecca Niazi, a sophomore at UMD, decided to spend a few hours of her Friday striking a post to land a spot in the magazine. "Playboy I've always thought of as girls and glamor. It's such a cool thing to be a part of."
Playboy is visiting 12 campuses across the nation looking for some fun-loving co-eds to fill their October issue. "She doesn't have to have a perfect body, and she doesn't have to have big boobs. That's a stereotypical thing people think," said Playboy photographer Cynthia Kaye.
Going nude is optional for the UMD test shoot, Kaye said. "Some of the girls are saying no, if I'm chosen, then I'll pose topless. But some of the girls are saying no and they'll take it right off and ok here's what I got to show."
Another Playboy hopeful, Carrie Russell, isn't bashful about baring it all. "I' m very comfortable with this and my body so I feel comfortable doing this."
Her mother, who accompanied her to the audition, carries the same sentiment. "She's such a beautiful girl. There's no holding her back and I'm not about to. Whatever she wants to do, I'm there for her," said Sandra
In many cases, students say the parents are still out of the loop. "A lot of my friends know and a lot of my family members don't know yet," said Niazi.
