D.C. police responded to three shootings within two hours across the city Friday, all within the span of two hours.

In the first incident, two teens shot a worker in the head at a construction site at 49th and East Capitol streets, SE, severely injuring him shortly after 2:30 p.m.

A Hispanic male construction worker was approached by two teenagers, one of whom is believed to be the shooter.

The victim was taken to Washington Hospital Center's Medstar in critical condition. He is in grave condition on life support. Police are searching for the two teens who fled the area after the shooting.

In another incident on the 1200 block of 18th Place NW shortly after 4 p.m., a male was shot a number of times. He was taken to an area hospital. His condition was not released.

The third shooting, in the 1600 block of E Street NE at 4:30 p.m., left a 7-year-old girl injured. She was apparently shot in the arm and suffered non-life threatening injuries. A total of 50 shots were fired between four masked gunmen and another gunman on the opposite end of the street. All of the incident happened right under a D.C. police surveillance camera.

None of the gunmen in any case has been arrested.

This is indeed a travesty! Residentconcern, you have to realize criminals are just that, criminals! No matter what color, language, creed, etc! And you mentioned hate crime, but where in this article does it say the person/persons was shot the construction worker was non-Hispanic? Or where did it say the shooters where African American, Asian, etc? You are assuming that since this worker was shot in DC, that it automatically means they were black. And even if they were black, criminals are criminals once again, that doesn't constitute a hate crime. I am not justifying the shooters motives, but you really don't know the entire story or what sparked this issue. I agree that nothing warrants somebody being shot in the head, but don't jump to conclusions that this is a hate crime. Last I checked with as a majority Hispanics (illegally) in the U.S. that has a issue with blacks for no good reason, so don't try to flip the script. Many come illegally, demanding rights, on the notion that the U.S. is their land, and have a nerve to talk about hate crimes? Yeh OK!
