Pilot Was Trying to Stow Gun That Fired

A US Airways pilot whose gun fired inside the cockpit says he was trying to stow the weapon as the crew got ready to land.A police report obtained Wednesday says the pilot gave the gun to a federal air marshal after the plane landed Saturday at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. Police were notified about an hour later.
Federal Air Marshal Service spokesman Greg Alter says the shooting is still under investigation.
Experts and airline officials have said the accidental discharge did not endanger anyone on board.
