Montgomery Count Firefighters battled a fire at a paper-recycling plant in Rockville Tuesday night.
Fire spokesperson Pete Piringer said units were dispatched shortly after 9:30 p.m. to the Georgetown Paper Stock Company in the 1200 block of East Gude Drive. He said arriving firefighters encountered extensive fire fuel by a couple hundred large bales of paper stacked up at the site.
Piringer said firefighters brought in front-end loaders and other equipment to help pull apart the bales to fully extinguish the flames.
Firefighters were initially concerned about the wind, which carryied embers to neighboring properties, where a couple of trash bins have caught fire.
No one was hurt in the fire and the cause remains under investigation.
