A vice principal in Prince George's County is indicted on child abuse charges.

Police removed 29-year-old Shadrick Woods from Gaywood Elemetary School on March 10, so the investigation into the allegations could proceed.

Late Tuesday afternoon, a Prince George's County grand jury returned a four count indictment against Woods alleging child sexual abuse on Tuesday.

Upon hearing of the charges, parents of the school are stunned.

"He always seemed to be a kind man when I bring my son to school," said one parent.

"I am just speechless this is really terrible. You know these kids and us as parents we trust these adults in the teaching industry to look out for our children," added another parent.

Woods is accused of abusing a 6-year-old boy in a school restroom. According to sources, the inappropriate behavior began when Woods was helping the boy tuck in his shirt. It is also alleged that Woods bribed the boy to keep quiet with a hand held gaming device.

"There is almost no words to describe how bad that is. And personally I think if they were a little tougher on people like that when they get caught it would squelch things like that in the future," said one parent.

"If something like that really occurred my heart just goes out to the little boy's family," said one parent.

A spokesperson for the school system says he really has no comment at this time because he is just learning of the seriousness of the allegations. He did say, however, when the allegations first surfaced in early March 2008, the vice principal was removed and did not have any further contact with students.
