D.C. Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee is announcing new security measures to curb violence at Woodrow Wilson High School in Northwest.

The details are explained in a letter that Rhee is planning to send to parents. The school is adding three security officers to the seven it already has. Students will be be required to each their lunch in their classrooms.

Thirteen students were arrested in two fights at the school this week. School officials say there have been 19 incidents involving fights or assaults at Wilson since the beginning of the school year.

Rhee says in the letter the security measures are a short-term solution while officials work out long-term plans.
