Barack Obama has started running at least two campaign ads early before area primaries in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland.

"I'll be a president who finally makes health care affordable," says Obama in one ad running four days before Super Tuesday, when 22 other states hold primaries.

"All of a sudden, the capital region may get flooded with campaign commercials, which is something we don't usually see during presidential races. Either in the primaries or the general election," says David Mark with Politico.

One of Obama's ads even feature Caroline Kennedy who says, "People always tell me how my father inspired them. I feel that same excitement now," which could play very well with Washington region voters.
Hillary Clinton has also begun looking into ad buys in the Capital region but for now, her commercials focus on Super Tuesday states.

John McCain and Mitt Romney are focusing on Super Tuesday as well.

Analysts say the candidates will spend a record $20 million dollars on Super Tuesday television spots.

NewsChannel 8 myTAKE - What's Your Opinion? If Super Tuesday doesn't decide the nominees, we could see the presidential candidates spend even more in this region.
