TEMPLE HILLS, Md. - Three armed robbery suspects are behind bars after leading police on a high speed chase across D.C. and into neighboring Prince George's County.
It all started in the District on Brandywine Street in Southeast where, police say, three men robbed someone at gunpoint and took off in a blue Dodge Durango.
D.C. Police chased the subjects into Maryland and Prince George's County Police joined in the pursuit. At one point, a D.C. Cruiser crashed head on into a Mercedes on Southern Avenue. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The stolen SUV eventually jumped a curb at the intersection of Oxon Run Drive and Oxon Run Street in Temple Hills. The suspects ditched the vehicle and fled on foot, police confirm.
The suspects ran right behind Barbara Moore's Temple Hills home. The family's outdoor security cameras captured the three fleeing men. "Well, we use those cameras because someone is always breaking into our vehicles," Moore said.
Police were able to apprehend all three suspects and also recovered a handgun from the scene. Police say the suspects' vehicle had stolen tags, but say they are not sure at this time if the vehicle itself was stolen.
Temple Hills resident Michael Randolph, who has small children, tells ABC 7 News this is not the first time a police chase has ended in the neighborhood, which is next to the Naylor Metro station.
"We try not to let them run around in the front yard because of what happens... it does happen in between Maryland and D.C.," Randolph said.
