(Sports Network) - The New Orleans Saints shuffled their coaching ranks on Monday, promoting Pete Carmichael to offensive coordinator and Aaron Kromer to offensive line/running game coach, naming Joe Lombardi quarterbacks coach and hiring Bret Ingalls as running backs coach.

Carmichael previously served as quarterbacks/passing game coach for New Orleans and oversaw a passing game that produced one of the most prolific stretches for a quarterback in NFL history with Drew Brees under center. Since 2006, Brees has thrown for a league-high 13,910 yards, 88 touchdowns, 1,209 completions and a 93.8 rating.

Kromer was the Saints' running backs coach in 2008 and, before coming to New Orleans, served as the offensive line coach in Tampa Bay (2005-07) and spent four seasons with the Oakland Raiders (2002-04) in the same capacity. A veteran of 18 years of coaching experience, Kromer also served as assistant offensive line coach for Oakland in 2001.

Ingalls spent the past three years at Northwestern University coaching the offensive line. In 2008, Ingalls assumed the additional title of running game coordinator, adding to his 23 years of coaching experience. He coached tight ends and tackles at Miami University in 2005 prior to joining the Northwestern staff and served alongside Saints head coach Sean Payton while on San Diego State's coaching staff in 1989 as running backs coach.
